Our company opened its doors in 1935 and has been active in the Pacific Rim since the 1970s. We focus on industrial outfits in New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji but are happy to expand into other areas if needed. We focus on major industries, such as energy, petroleum, chemical processing, pulp and paper, transportation and a new expansion into renewables.

History

Richard Thomas Muirhead opened the doors for R.T. Muirhead Company in 1935 in order to help supply parts for construction projects in the Panama Canal zone. The sale of equipment and parts in that area eventually lead to customers throughout Central and South America.

Richard’s son, Thomas DeWitt Muirhead, switched geographical gears in 1970 and made an exploratory trip to Australia. He established new contacts throughout the continent, which then helped build connections across New Zealand, Fiji, and surrounding islands.

Tom’s son, Rich Muirhead, ultimately transitioned into President of R.T. Muirhead Company. Now Rich and his son, Conor Muirhead, provide personal support and solutions tailored to meet the needs of its clients located all over the Asia-Pacific region.
